Haha. When I got back from being ...Oh, that hair!!! Haha. When I got back from being in New Zealand for a year and a half, I felt a bit weird too. I dressed different (better) than I used to and EVERYONE said that I had developed an accent and would constantly comment on it which made me feel a little uncomfortable because I was just talking haha. And I definitely have been in the prefacing with country situation. I don't mean for it to sound braggy about having lived somewhere else but sometimes it just doesn't make sense if I don't start with "When I lived in New Zealand"!Chelsea Oliviahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11809115137318952745noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8758074102045656430.post-89932477413895654742013-12-18T08:33:22.913-08:002013-12-18T08:33:22.913-08:00Yah, the girl who gave me blue hair had studied in...Yah, the girl who gave me blue hair had studied in Australia and swore that she could handle it... so much for that! Yay for western salons! I'm sure after 9 years it would be quite a shock to the system!
You could definitely be very popular among expats if you took care of the cosmetology needs of white expats, it's a growing market :) I would absolutely take advantage of that.Lauren Roerickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03092640227303901791noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8758074102045656430.post-70782702211363551332013-12-17T04:49:04.326-08:002013-12-17T04:49:04.326-08:00Well if you're going to have blue hair, its be...Well if you're going to have blue hair, its best you have it in Asia!!! I have AVOIDED salons like the plague since moving to Korea. There is one stylist that the westerners swear by here, but my friend came out with pumpkin orange hair and it was supposed to be blonde. She's a natural dishwater blonde. How that happened I don't know.

No Asian salons for me! I'll be getting my hair taken care of in Hawaii for the first time since January of 2012! Whoop!

I'm so excited for you to go home! :) Can't wait to hear of your experiences dear!!Amanda @ Living in Another Languagehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09622585741595185328noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8758074102045656430.post-8724819861465525772013-12-17T04:30:09.305-08:002013-12-17T04:30:09.305-08:00Oh man, reverse culture shock is definitely real! ...Oh man, reverse culture shock is definitely real! My family has lived in Asia for 9 years, and they's just now back on a visit. It's hilarious to watch them in the grocery store. And they have forgotten American English.
And the hair!! Well, I have blue hair on purpose at the moment, but my husband and I are looking to move to Asia in the near future, and I already decided that whatever my actual job is, on the side I will be the "white cosmetologist" because I know from previous haircuts that stylists over there really don't have the right experience with and knowledge of white people hair--I think any western woman in Asia would be happy to have a stylist who has actually worked with hair like ours!Rachelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07894832851934334471noreply@blogger.com
