5 Things

Here's a bit of what's been going on lately.
In no particular order, here it goes:

1. 16 days ago I started something insane.  Literally.  I started doing Beachbody's Insanity 60 day program.  It's kicking my freaking butt, but I can already feel myself getting stronger and better at the workouts.  I've already noticed a few changes in my appearance, but I've especially noticed a serious change in my heart rate and and overall fitness.  My muscles aren't getting as sore and I'm making a quicker recovery after each workout.  I wasn't going to tell anyone until after I finished, but since it's been over two weeks of sticking to it, I figure it'll give me some motivation if people know.

Here's day 7:

Here's day 14:
Is it just me or can you see a difference?

2.  I finally jumped on the smart phone bandwagon with this spiffy Samsung Galaxy S3.  It's seriously amazing and does the most ridiculously awesome things.  Plus they have unlimited data plans here that are pretty inexpensive so I don't have to worry about going over the limit.
I bought a pretty little case for it, too.  It smells like strawberry poptarts :) seriously!

3. It's getting dang cold and rainy here.  Now, I normally love the rain, and it's really only about 15 degrees, but when your only transportation is a scooter (stupid rain like knives on my face!) and your teachers refuse to close the windows because it's "unhealthy," then it gets a little ridiculous.  In my personal opinion it's unhealthy to freeze with the fans on and the windows open while I'm in class, but who I am to say...  Anyway, after the third day of showing up to class with wet jeans and a face full of rain, it gets a little old.
Ok, rant over.

4.  It's beginning to look a little bit like Christmas. Our foot and a half tall Christmas tree is doing its best to spread a little christmas cheer and get us thinking about the holidays.  Last year we just kind of let it pass us by, but this year we're trying not to let that happen again.
(yes, one of those ornaments is a plush vampire that came with our combo at the movie theatre....)

5. This is something I will never understand about Taiwan.

This is somehow considered dessert.  It's red beans, green peas, and a sweet creamy coating... WHY!?
I will never ever understand, despite the times I have tried to.
I will just never be able to choose vegetables on my shaved ice, over this:

Never ever.
